On the sidelines of the event, the delegation visited Yuelu Academy, one of the four most prestigious academies of ancient China. This academy, which is now part of Hunan University, was founded by the Song dynasty in 976. Beyond its historical significance, this site—a popular tourist attraction—has become a centre for education and research at Hunan University. The Director of the ECOWAS Centre for Youth and Sports Development, Francis Chuks Njoaguani, took part in this forum, which aims to give young people a role in the development of states and communities. The aim is for young people to share their experiences in the field of technology in order to foster innovation and entrepreneurship.
