Today, the ECOWAS Volunteer Programme’s French teacher, Ms Aissatou Diallou, carried out her personal project, a commendable initiative that involved planting trees on the school grounds and distributing free French books. As well as tackling climate change, the agenda includes promoting language learning, cross-cultural interaction and access to education. Through this project, the community’s awareness of the French language and culture is enhanced, whilst literacy is promoted. Furthermore, the project encouraged pupils to plant trees, which is essential for the health of both pupils and staff. A healthy and more suitable learning environment is facilitated by regular cleaning, waste management and green initiatives. Best practices in hygiene foster a healthy learning environment and help prevent illness.
