International Women’s Day Message from His Excellency Francis Chuks NJOAGUANI, Director of the ECOWAS Youth and Sports Development Centre and Acting Resident Representative of ECOWAS in Burkina Faso

International Women’s Day Message from His Excellency Francis Chuks NJOAGUANI, Director of the ECOWAS Youth and Sports Development Centre and interim Resident Representative of ECOWAS in Burkina Faso Today, 8 March, the international community commemorates the 167th International Women’s Day. This commemoration symbolises our commitment to women’s development, equality, social justice and peace throughout the world. Women are a vital part of our community, and ECOWAS is committed to empowering them to contribute to community development and regional integration. We pay tribute to the work they carry out every day for the West African region and to improve the living conditions of our communities. In a region characterised by challenges relating to peace, security and socio-cultural constraints that hinder their progress, they remain resilient in the face of these challenges and continue to fulfil their role as stakeholders serving our communities. This is a gift of selflessness and great sacrifice that is worthy of praise. I salute the excellent work being carried out by the women of the ECOWAS Youth and Sports Development Centre and those of the ECOWAS Permanent Representation in Burkina Faso in implementing community and regional integration policies for an ECOWAS of the people, for peace and prosperity. I salute all the women who are fighting for a better ECOWAS and a better world! Let us invest in women and accelerate progress! Happy Women’s Day to you all
