How are volunteers recruited? The skills offered to host organisations are gathered through a call for applications. Host countries and organisations specify the type of skills they require to support peace and development efforts, and the Programme meets these requests by identifying, selecting and recruiting qualified volunteers from the region. The pilot phase (2010–2015) deployed volunteers mainly to post-conflict countries. The sustainable phase, which began in January 2017, extends coverage to all ECOWAS Member States. Previously, no international volunteer was permitted to serve in their country of origin. However, under the new sustainable phase, volunteers may be recruited to serve in their country of origin. #ECOWASVolunteersDay #Youthengagement #Educationmatters #UnityInDiversity #Gratitude
