Empowerment and leadership among African youth at the heart of the 2025 edition of KPMP4AFRICA

The closing ceremony of the 2025 edition of the Kings Patriots Mentorship Programme for Africa (KPMP4AFRICA) was successfully held in Abuja, Nigeria, on 10 May 2025. Bringing together nearly 200 young people from across Africa, this continent-wide programme, led by the Kings Patriots Development Foundation (KPDF), aimed to build the capacities of African youth in the areas of leadership, employability and entrepreneurship. Over a six-week period, through a series of hybrid sessions, participants took part in masterclasses, workshops and interactive sessions covering a range of topics, including those linked to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This innovative educational approach fostered strategic thinking and the implementation of youth-led projects geared towards sustainable development. In line with its mission of social transformation, the KPDF officially launched the Youth Empowerment Fund, with an initial endowment of one million naira. This fund aims to support the entrepreneurial projects of the programme’s young beneficiaries. This remarkable initiative was made possible thanks to the vision and ongoing support of the ECOWAS Centre for Youth and Sports Development (CDJS/ECOWAS). The dynamism of the CDJS/ECOWAS, which is proactively committed to supporting young people, opens up new prospects for the funding and sustainable support of initiatives led by young Africans. The closing ceremony, marked by solemnity and hope, was attended by distinguished guests, including representatives from the ECOWAS Commission, the CDJS/ECOWAS, as well as technical and financial partners. Among them were: The Managing Director of ARM Pensions, The CEO and founder of BergView Villas Construction, The CEO of Brownson Group, The Regional Coordinator of the ECOWAS Volunteers Programme, representing the Director of the CDJS/ECOWAS. This 2025 edition of KPMP4AFRICA marks a decisive step in the regional commitment to a future led by young people who are equipped, inspired and committed to the development of the African continent. #VoixJeunesseCEDEAO / #YouthVoicesECOWAS
