ECOWAS Regional Youth Forum in Saly: an opportunity to commit ECOWAS to a new vision for young people

On 1 July 2025, the first edition of the Regional Youth Conference in the ECOWAS region will open in Saly, Senegal. The aim of this meeting is clear: to engage ECOWAS in developing a new vision for its young people. Organised under the auspices of ECOWAS, this event is a promising initiative aimed at bringing together young people from the various member states to jointly develop innovative solutions to the region’s common challenges. Among the priorities addressed are employability, education, the digital transition and inclusive governance. Through this conference, ECOWAS reaffirms its commitment to investing in its youth and making them a key driver of development, peace, regional integration and shared prosperity. This meeting is fully in line with the organisation’s Vision 2050 and forms part of the celebrations marking its 50th anniversary.
